How Deep Is Your Love
Originated by
The Bee Gees

Where are you forsaken love?
You are near for you dwell where no man can see,
where no one has ever been but you.
For you are said to be true love.

How true is a love that hurts without an ending
until the pain inflicted pierces the heart?

Forsaken and true was I.
For I gave when giving was shunned
as though it were a curse upon the soul of its intended.

'Tis said true love is the greatest gift one can give another.
Yet when another has shielded themselves from such
then the love becomes an endless pain.
'Tis an overwhelming agony where the heart
is broken without a doubt intentionally,
without a doubt true love has been forsaken.

When did true love become an enemy to your soul?
When did everlasting become nevermore?
Was it when true love was said to be eternal?
Was it when your fate became imminent,
as it was witnessed by blinded eyes?

Forsaken one I weep for you.
For the depth of your gentle, devoted heart shall never be known.
Your eternal commitment shall never be witnessed.

For fear became your intended's friend and confidant.
It became all they knew,
all they cared to be.
For it is simpler to be comforted in one's own fear
than to pledge one's eternal love to another.

Yet my heart shall not fear true love
For it has been known in its entirety within me
It has laughed at those who said it could never be
It has cheered in its triumph
over all who said it is not real

For it is the passion of life
It is joy eternal
for it does exist even when it is forsaken
It does thrive within my heart for my true love.
