Their Nectar Sweet

From the window I can see
a beautiful morning awakening me.
The sun shines brightly amongst the trees.
Birds are singing their melodies.

To greet this day I must go,
to smell the flowers and watch them grow.
To walk in the beauty God has gave.
How blessed I am upon this day.

The roses are blooming.
Their nectar sweet.
As the hummingbird has its treat.
Seeing the thorn it does not fear.
For it knows the sweetness that lies so near.

As I gaze I can see
what the hummingbird has shown to me.
Life has its thorns that can be feared.
But life's nectar is so dear.
For living in fear of a harm unknown
forsakes the blessings God has shown.

Thus, I will absorb this gift of love.
As I look into the heavens far above.
I am so thankful for this day
with God's blessings it brought my way.
